Intersession Week

Spring term brings Intersession Week, a chance for students to take a break from traditional academic curriculum and cultivate new interests and skills in unique week-long, ungraded courses, many of which are not typically offered within the high school setting.

Palo Alto Preparatory staff are encouraged to tap into their specific knowledge-bases and talents to create innovative courses to engage students and help them explore new content and experiences. Courses offered during Intersession Week in the past include: Graphic Design, Film Analysis, Game Design, Drama, Sewing, Biotech, Cooking, Intro to Philosophy, Beginning Guitar, Coding, Stained Glass, Chess, Model Building, Mural Painting, and Art Museum Trips.

Changing Lives, Redefining Education

“The curated learning experiences, the adventures that the school provides, and the challenges that they help guide you through are unique and wholly awesome. I can confidently say that going to PAP was one of the best decisions I have made, and I will always be grateful for what it provided me…Italy was an amazing trip and unlike anything I had been able to do either before or since. Although, we certainly cannot discount river rafting, scuba diving, or any of the numerous other activities that PAP provided.

Frankly, this type of extracurricular education was something I had never thought I would experience, and the opportunities for new life experiences that the school provided my younger self will be something I hold dear for the rest of my life.”
