General Activities

Palo Alto Preparatory believes there are classrooms outside of four walls. Creeks, woods, any form of raw nature is far away from the realities of many students, and the days of slingshots and tree houses are giving way to indoor worlds full of technological distractions such as video games, plasma screen televisions, cell phones, etc. Possessing a great deal of energy and curiosity, students are not just meant to sit in desks for several hours per day. Children are very tactile, and need to feel, to experience things with their own hands. They need to see things happen, not just read about them in books. In addition the young need to see active adults in their lives. With this belief, Palo Alto Preparatory has several curriculum based outdoor education adventures any given year. Some of these adventures include:
  • Rafting
  • Skiing
  • Kayaking
  • Wetlands
  • Ropes Course
  • Camping
  • Hiking
  • Community Art Events
  • Scuba
  • Aviation

“It gives us considerable satisfaction to write this letter to thank you and your staff at Palo Alto Prep for your success in graduating our son this year. Not only did he graduate while still 17 years old, he has gone on to college with a positive and confident attitude.

It is difficult to believe that it is the same person we brought to you only two years ago. No one can foretell if Justin will maintain his performance, but we have such sufficient regard to your school’s affect on his performance that we have enrolled his brother with you this year.”
