Certification & Accreditation

Graduating from Palo Alto Prep is the preparation your son or daughter needs to succeed academically at college. Accreditation is one way that we can assure you of a proven track record of educational accomplishment within our school. Here is a current list of certifications and accreditations:

  • Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, WASC
  • University of California, Approved A–G Course List
  • Certified by the State of California to award a valid High School Diploma
  • Certified as a Non-Public school*, NPS, by the State of California to provide special education services.
  • Course List approved by the NCAA Clearinghouse

Changing Lives, Redefining Education

*Palo Alto Preparatory School is a privately operated high school with certification from the State of California, allowing us to accommodate students referred by various school districts as an NPS (Non-Public School). When parents choose Palo Alto Preparatory School for their child’s education, they are committing to a private educational arrangement and are responsible for the full annual tuition. Please be aware that while we strive to support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) referred by their respective districts, availability in our IEP slots may vary by year.

       NPS (Non-Public School) referrals can only be initiated by school districts. Palo Alto Preparatory School does not involve itself in negotiations between districts and parents. Once a district initiates a referral, our school conducts a comprehensive review of the student’s records, holds an interview, and assesses whether we can effectively implement the student’s IEP. Admission is contingent upon this evaluation, space availability, and case-load limits.
